Welcome to our Eco Chalet, which is the Axtell's lakefront cottage at Camp Comfort on Lac Aylmer in the Eastern Townships of Quebec. This is ourresidential property avaialble for monthly and year long rentals.

Camp Comfort is the name of a quiet community of cottagers from Montreal, Quebec City, Calgary, Sherbrooke, and British Columbia (when my daughters come to visit).

Find us with the Goggle Map Here.

Our large but charming "Camp Comfort" cottage is 30 feet from the water with breath-taking panoramic views of a very large (5 x 20 mile) lake in the rolling hills of the upper Appalachians. Fabulous for sailing and wind surfing. This is a non-tourist, largely Francophone farming area. Perfect for your retreat, romantic getaway, and especially designed for family reunions. Take a visual tour of the cottage here.
All 12 months of photos are found on the right side menu.

Canoeing, sailing, good fishing, and swimming. Stroll the Camp Comfort lane and the old Route #1, enjoy the loons. So heavily wooded you will never see a neighbor.

As we do not update this site very often, the latest photos and stories from the cottage are posted on our Facebook feed.

Half of the 2,400 sq ft building is our original family cottage at Camp Comfort bought in 1929 by my grandmother from New York City. Telka was lured to the lake for the fishing and also probably as it reminded her of the rolling hills of her native Slovakia (Spišská Nová Ves). This is a cottage community with lots of history; to see pictures from the 40-50's go here. Our region just got a few newcomers from the city, during the pandemic. I've been working on the property for over fifty-five years as a labour of love. We added the hot tub that our guests appreciate a lot. The cinema is the icing on the cake. Camp Comfort ran its cinema during 1952-72 and re-opened in 2020.

The big rock in the background became a waterfall in the spring of 2010. It really is a magical spot and the place for deep contemplation and for healing just about anything

Just you and the loons
Weather permitting, there is a small skating rink in front, and 500 ft away my neighbour clears a hockey size rink. From Christmas to early March.

175 feet of paridise! Panoramic photo - the shoreline is straight, not bending like this image
